About Sea Smart

Fully Automated Berth Booking System

Not only books most convenient and/or economically priced berth but can take into account other factors, such as weather conditions, en route to alternative ports, as well as fuel consumption and other costs, in order to give the user the most efficient berthing options.

Sea Smart is aware of boat location, via GPS, together with updated information on all boat systems, such as fuel quantity and boat displacement.

The captain can log into Sea Smart, either via the internet or other methods, from any location in the world. Sea Smart takes into account weather, via meteorological office updates and coast guard reports (as well as other sources, if so desired) between the yacht’s location and the various available berths, as well as costs of berths, boat fuel levels, shipping lanes and fuel prices, at the port. Sea Smart uses these various forms of information in order to calculate the optimal berth to visit, as well as costs, in both money and time, to get there. Sea Smart can be designed to process as many relevant variables as desired. The yacht owner's payment details can be entered into the system, so berth pre-payment can be made.

Additional Marina Information
Sea Smart can also include all amenity and facility details for each marina, at which berths are available. Marinas will be encouraged to join as members of Sea Smart and then continually update the system, including as much information, about the marina facilities, as they wish.

Incentives
Marinas can ensure that all assets are fully utilised and have prepayments for the booked berths. As well as marina operators, businesses, within each marina, would be encouraged to join. For example, a ship chandler may want to advertise availability of certain items. Restaurants might wish to advertise their type of cooking and availability of tables.

Berth owners, who are not using their berths, can let their berths, through the marina, on as short or long term basis as they wish.
